hi!

Hello! We are the Kortlevers. Actually, at the moment we are still the Kortlever and the Surjana, because I (Candice) have not legally changed my name yet. But that will happen. Eventually.

We were married on 8.31.13, in a gorgeous ceremony in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a really special and amazing day for both of us, filled with memories we will cherish forever and ever, and stories we will tell our children over and over again. Like how Uncle Gabriel was the perfect groomsman, even adorably holding mommy's train during family photos. Or when mommy surprised daddy with a song she'd written and recorded months before, for their first dance (shameless plug: you can listen to the song here).

Anyway, that's jumping a little ahead of ourselves. Right now we're just a couple of newlyweds, working and living in the city of Seattle, enjoying the beginning of the Fall season.

But all of that is about to change.

A lot.
